Link2Grow Mentor Programme

Why a mentor programme?

We wish to empower young women to be ready for tertiary education and to make the correct career choices. Many young girls

• lack confidence due to not having good role models or parental guidance
• are not aware of career opportunities
• this leads to inappropriate (and often unsuccessful) tertiary studies
• do not know how to access study bursaries or apply to a tertiary institution

Grade 12 learners of Good Hope Seminary in Hope Street, Cape Town are mentored by adults facilitated by Link to Grow

• Facilitate role models
• Guidance with career choices, including psychometric testing
• Guidance with application for bursaries and further studies
• Arrange workshops on relevant topics
• Facilitate job shadows

• By becoming a “time mentor” to mentor a grade 12 girl in 2019.

You have to commit to meet the mentee approximately once a month between February and November, attend group events, e.g. launch, mentor guidance session and keep in touch via WhatsApp.

• Become a “financial mentor” by sponsoring a mentee’s participation at a cost of R3 500

• Offer your expertise to run a workshop, organise an outing, arrange a job shadow or internship, etc.
